Bob Slovak
Bob Slovak joined the ABC13 Eyewitness News Sports team in 1998. From the birth of the Texans to the Rockets high expections to the Astros World Series runs, Bob has covered it all. Pros, College, High School, Little League Bob loves it.

His two favorite sporting events he's covered are the Astros winning Game 7 of the World Series in LA and watching Vince Young score the winning TD against USC in the Rose Bowl.

Born in Dallas, Bob graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. From his days as a Little Leaguer through is high school career, Bob always had a strong passion for sports. He's carried that passion over to his sports broadcasting career. Bob now brings that passion to ABC13's Programming/Special Projects department as the team's Premium Content Multi-Skilled Reporter.

Bob also teaches Broadcast Writing in the Jack Valenti School of Communication at the University of Houston. Being able to pass along his more the 30 years of broadcast knowledge and to connect with the students a rewarding plus to his career. In his off time, Bob loves to go to Astros games with his two sons, two daughters and three grand sons. Golf, guitar and concerts also fill up his time.

Bob began his broadcasting career in Ada, Oklahoma at KTEN-TV. He's also worked in Beaumont at KFDM-TV, at KOTV-TV in Tulsa, and in Phoenix at KNXV-TV. He's been honored with Associated Press, Emmy, and Edward R. Murrow Awards during his sports broadcasting career.
